Job summary

Higher Openshaw Community School is seeking a committed individual for a full-time post (35 hours per week) to support primary-age learners. The role requires English and Maths GCSE at Level C/5 or equivalent and a passion for helping young people progress.

Contract Type: Permanant

Working Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Qualifications Required: Possess English and Maths GCSE (Minimum Level C / Grade 5) or equivalent qualifications

Salary: £27,274 - £29,071 per annum

Start Date: 30th November 2026

  • Who possess English and Maths GCSE (Minimum Level C / Grade 5) or equivalent qualifications
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Who is able to demonstrate you have the ability to use your own initiative
  • Is an excellent team player
  • Is passionate about helping young people make progress and succeed
  • Is resilient with effective behaviour management strategies when required
The successful candidates will:
  • Have experience of working with or caring for primary age children.
  • Have a basic knowledge of first aid, child welfare and hygiene.
  • Have the ability to relate well to both children and adults.
  • Be able to work constructively as part of a larger team, understanding roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
