Job summary

Allenton Community Primary School invites applications for a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher with teaching and learning in the classroom and contribute to pupil behaviour management.

The role includes supporting pupils with additional learning needs and providing one-to-one support for a named child, with start from November 2026. The position is part-time, 34 hours per week, and permanent.

Allenton Community Primary School is seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher with teaching and learning in the classroom andcontribute to the management of pupil behaviour by encouraging positive behaviour in the classroom.

We warmly welcome applications from motivated, nurturing individuals to join our dedicated and highly effective team from November 2026. The role will include supporting pupils’ with additional learning needs and one to one support for a named child with Special Educational Needs, behaviour challenges and medical condition.

You will:
  1. have the patience to provide 1 to 1 support to children with complex needs (if applicable);
  2. be creative in your approach to learning and delivering the curriculum;
  3. have high expectations of pupils’ achievements and a commitment to excellent standards;
  4. work well as part of a team
  5. be literate and numerate;
  6. be enthusiastic, energetic and committed to making learning exciting;
  7. have excellent communication skills with children and adults
