Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in Leigh, supporting a Primary KS1 class. The position starts in October and runs on a full-time basis from 8.30 to 3.30, with responsibilities across year groups and a lunchtime duty.

You will work alongside the class teacher to support learning and development, provide pastoral support, and help create a safe, nurturing environment while tracking pupils' progress.

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as a TA in a primary school.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS on Update Service.
• Ability to work across year groups.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1-1 and in small groups.
• Assist with learning and pastoral care.
• Carry out lunchtime duties and maintain safeguarding.
• Record pupil progress and support SEND needs.

Teaching Assistant - Leigh

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis at a Primary School within the Leigh Area working in KS1. The role will start in October on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to support the learning and development of our children across key stage one.

Key Responsibilities

• Working 1-1 with children needing additional support
• Full time hours - 8.30-3.30
• Providing pastoral support to children who may need extra help.
• Contributing to the creation of a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Helping to assess pupils' progress and keeping accurate records.
• Supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Flexible to work across different year groups
• Role will include a lunchtime duty

Essential Requirements

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and a right to work in the UK

Desirable Requirements

• Knowledge of phonics and early years learning.
• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Experience using ICT to support learning.
