Job summary

E-ACT Ilminster Avenue Academy in Bristol is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the curriculum, helping individuals and groups to reach their learning goals in a warm, inclusive environment. You will assist teachers, monitor progress, and provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, contributing to a positive classroom where every child can thrive.

This fixed-term role offers term-time hours and a competitive pay scale within a supportive trust.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• The ability to motivate, engage and inspire young learners.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities across the curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and develop confidence.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Assist in creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
• Help monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform future learning.
