Job summary

E-ACT Montpelier High School is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming Bristol community. You will support students academically and personally, helping them build confidence and reach their potential alongside dedicated teachers.

With a focus on inclusive learning and strong teamwork, you will provide targeted support for students, including those with additional needs, and contribute to a positive, safe classroom environment that promotes kindness and resilience.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience of working with children and young people and supporting their learning and development.
• Understanding of effective classroom support strategies and child development.
• Ability to build positive professional relationships with students, colleagues and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons for all students.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Assist students with additional needs, including SEND, to access learning and achieve goals.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement in an inclusive environment.
• Contribute to targeted intervention programmes to overcome barriers to learning.
