Job summary

We are seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join E-ACT Montpelier High School in Bristol. You will support students academically and personally, helping them build confidence and reach their potential in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

As part of our team, you’ll work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, assist pupils with SEND needs, and contribute to intervention programmes that boost achievement and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience of working with children and supporting their learning and development.
• Understanding of effective classroom support strategies and child development.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons that enable all students to make strong progress.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students develop confidence, resilience, and independence in their learning.
• Assist students with additional needs, including SEND, to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement, helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to targeted intervention programmes and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
