Job summary

Edwalton Primary School, part of the Flying High Partnership, is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to support learning across the classroom and alongside the class teacher. The role involves helping pupils across the day and contributing to a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The ideal candidate will be HLTA-qualified or working towards HLTA status, with experience delivering whole-class teaching under supervision, planning, assessing, and providing feedback to pupils.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or progression toward HLTA is required.
• Experience delivering whole-class teaching under supervision.
• Ability to plan, assess and provide feedback to support pupil progress.
• Strong communication and collaboration with teaching teams and families.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for teaching staff, including leading class teaching under supervision and short-term PPA cover.
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under supervision.
• Assess and report pupil progress across curriculum areas.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and families to create an inclusive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding procedures.
