Job summary

Academics are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a valued school in the Harborne area from September 2026. The HLTA will cover classes and small groups across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and support SEN pupils with 1-to-1 and small-group work.

Suitable candidates will have Level 2+ TA qualifications or a relevant degree, with enhanced DBS (update service) and eligibility to work in the UK. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in covering EYFS to KS2 and teaching an entire class as well as several year groups.
• Experience assisting SEN pupils, including small groups and 1-to-1 support.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training continually when needed.

Responsibilities

• Cover classes and small groups across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide support for SEN pupils, including 1-to-1 and small-group work.
• Support planning, delivery and assessment under supervision.

Job description

Academics are looking to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for one of our highly valued schools located in the Harborne area which starts September 2026.

The successful HLTA must be able to cover classes and small groups in EYFS, KS1, and KS2. You will ideally have the necessary qualifications and experience to teach an entire class as well as several year groups in a primary school. Assisting SEN pupils is also a crucial part of the role, this means you will also be expected to support small groups and 1-to-1s when needed.

Qualifications that we will consider for this role:

• Teaching Assistant related (Level 2+)
• University graduates (with relevant degree)
• Childcare related (Level 2+)

HLTA Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
