Job summary

Edwalton Primary School in Nottingham is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team. You will support children across the classroom, work with the class teacher and wider staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences, and ensure every child is fully supported.

The role is for 3 days a week (2 days may be considered). HLTA-qualified or working towards HLTA status is preferred, and you will assist with whole-class teaching, small groups, and 1:1 support,

Qualifications

  • HLTA-qualified or working towards HLTA status.
  • Experience delivering whole-class teaching under supervision (PPA/short-term cover).
  • Ability to plan, assess, and provide feedback to support pupil progress.
  • Positive role model who can lead and mentor staff.
  • Strong communicator with teaching teams, parents, and external professionals.
  • Committed, resilient, inclusive with safeguarding duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cover for teaching staff including leading class teaching under supervision and PPA cover.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities under supervision.
  • Assess and report pupil progress across curriculum areas.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support learning and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff and families to create an inclusive environment.
  • Uphold safeguarding and model school values in all interactions.
