Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a primary school in Woodford. You will support teaching and learning, lead small groups, and deliver planned lessons when the class teacher is absent.

We require HLTA qualification or equivalent, experience in a primary setting and strong communication with positive behaviour management. DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent school-based experience.
• Experience in a primary school setting.
• Confident leading whole-class learning and small group interventions; strong communication and behaviour management.
• Proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting children's learning.
• Committed to raising pupil attainment and safeguarding.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of engaging lessons across the primary age range.
• Lead small group interventions and provide targeted pupil support.
• Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support pupils with learning needs, including SEND.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies.
