Job summary

Arkwright Primary School, part of Redhill Academy Trust in Chesterfield, is seeking a Teaching and Learning Assistant to support Key Stage 2 and SEND pupils. The role is 26 hours per week, permanent, term-time only, with working hours Monday-Thursday 8:45am - 1:45pm; Friday 8:45am - 3:30pm, commencing January 2027.

You will work closely with teachers, monitor pupils during breaks, deliver interventions, and help create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching and Learning Qualification or equivalent is required.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualification or equivalent is required.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is essential.
• Paediatric First Aid training is preferred.
• Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and early intervention approaches is desirable.
• Experience delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.

Responsibilities

• Primarily support KS2 teaching and learning and SEND pupils.
• Monitor and support children during break and lunch times.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver interventions.
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive school culture.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of children.
