Job summary

Arkwright Primary School, part of Redhill Academy Trust, seeks a Teaching and Learning Assistant to support KS2 and SEND pupils. The role is 26 hours, term-time only, with an 8:45am–1:45pm or 3:30pm finish, starting January 2027.

The successful candidate will have Level 3 Teaching and Learning qualifications (or equivalent), Level 2 English/Maths, Paediatric First Aid and SEND experience. A warm, collaborative team awaits.

Qualifications

• Has experience of supporting children within a primary school setting, including those with SEND.
• Level 3 Teaching and Learning Qualification or equivalent.
• Suitable Level 2 Qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
• Paediatric First Aid training.
• Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and early intervention approaches.
• Experience delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.

Responsibilities

• Primarily support teaching and learning within Key Stage 2.
• Work closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential.
• Support pupils with SEND through classroom support, interventions and small-group work when required.
• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for all pupils.
• Contribute to our caring and inclusive school culture where every child is encouraged to thrive.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:45am - 1:45pm; Friday 8:45am - 3:30pm

• Works effectively as part of a team and uses their initiative.
• Can monitor and support children in break and lunch times and ensure they are thriving and safe.
• Will embrace our school ethos and add to our brilliant team.
• Level 3 Teaching and Learning Qualification or equivalent.
• Suitable Level 2 Qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Paediatric First Aid training.
• Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and early intervention approaches.
• Experience delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.
