Cover People are recruiting for an enthusiastic and versatile Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a role that goes beyond the traditional classroom-based TA position, with a mixture of SEND support, SEMH interventions, enrichment activities, pupil mentoring and after-school provision.

The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, emotional wellbeing and helping children develop both academically and personally. It also provides a wide range of enrichment opportunities and specialist support for pupils with additional needs.

This is a varied role particularly suited to an experienced Teaching Assistant who would like to take on additional responsibility and work across different areas of the school.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead and oversee the school's after-school club, ensuring children are safe, engaged and supported.
  • Support enrichment activities and SEMH interventions during the mornings.
  • Work within the school's inclusion provision, supporting small groups of pupils with additional needs, including Autism.

  • Promote independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Support pupils with personal care, hygiene or mobility needs where required.
  • Help embed literacy and numeracy across learning and contribute to the wider development of pupils.
Why Work with Cover People?
  • Competitive salary/rates depending on experience and role.
  • Full-time, term-time position with consistent working hours.
  • Opportunity to develop your SEND, SEMH and inclusion experience.
  • Varied role combining classroom support, enrichment, mentoring and after-school provision.

  • Be organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • Be committed to helping children achieve positive academic, social and emotional outcomes.
What We Need from You:
  • An up-to-date CV covering your full education and employment history.
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proof of Right to Work and UK address.
