Job summary

Cover People is hiring a SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming secondary special needs school in Salford. You will support secondary-aged pupils, including those with Autism and Complex Needs, helping them thrive in learning.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting 1st Sept 2026. Salary is £95-£115 per day paid PAYE through Cover People, with safeguarding training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
• Two professional references.
• A CV detailing your full education and work history.
• Proof of Right to Work & Address in the UK.
• A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the classroom, providing support to both individual pupils and small groups.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
