Job summary

lmpgroup is seeking applicants for a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Springwood Heath Primary School in Liverpool. The role supports pupils with diverse needs under the guidance of teaching staff, with a focus on safeguarding and inclusive learning.

The apprenticeship runs for 16 months, with hours Monday to Friday, 8.45am–3.30pm. It offers £8 per hour for the first year (32 hours per week) and then National Minimum Wage thereafter, with enhanced training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
• DBS check required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to curriculum planning and evaluation while supporting delivery of teaching programmes.
• Assist in lessons and interact effectively with teachers and pupils.
• Adapt learning activities according to pupil needs and progress.
• Support use of ICT in learning and help pupils grow in confidence with technology.
• Provide individual and group support by explaining tasks and reinforcing concepts.
• Deliver short whole class sessions such as reading activities.
• Encourage communication and participation through role play and interactive tasks.
• Promote inclusion, teamwork and positive relationships among pupils.
• Foster independence, confidence and self-esteem in pupils.
• Assist staff with planning, delivering and evaluating lessons.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Contribute to assessment through observation and record keeping.
