Job summary

Connex Education are supporting a primary school in Bidston, Wirral, recruiting an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children in reception with SEN, aligning activities to EHCPs and promoting inclusion.

You will build positive relationships with pupils and staff, monitor progress, and support classroom routines in a nurturing environment. The role is full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, starting 1st September 2026, with competitive weekly pay and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; other relevant school experience also considered.
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent Level 2.
• Current DBS on update service or willingness to apply through Connex.

Role: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant

Location: Birkenhead, Wirral

Salary: £475 – £500 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Start Date: 1st September 2026

About the Role

Connex Education are supporting a primary school in Bidston, who are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in their reception class. You will be supporting children with SEN. To succeed in this role, you will build relationships with the children in order to help them access the curriculum, according to their EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).

Person Specification

Qualifications

• A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
