Job summary

Connex Education are recruiting an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support learners with SEND in a Runcorn school. The role is five days a week (flexible for part-time/job-share) and involves assisting in a SEND environment with Severe Learning Difficulties. A DBS Update Service check or willingness to apply is required.

The school serves KS1/KS2 EYFS learners with complex needs; staff provide tailored, sensory-focused education and strong safeguarding practices. DBS checks are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with SEND or Early Years in a school or residential setting.
• Be willing to provide all aspects of personal care.
• Strong de-escalation skills.
• Team player, working with class teachers and support staff to deliver appropriate lesson plans.
• Confident working in accordance to Education Health Care Plans (EHCP).
• Full enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one.

Responsibilities

• Support EYFS/SEND learners in a school setting in Runcorn.
• Assist with lesson delivery and activities for KS1/KS2 aligned to SEND needs.
• Follow EHCP guidance and safeguarding requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement plans.
• Provide personal care as required and maintain pupil wellbeing.

About the Role.

Connex Education are looking for a EYFS Teaching Assistant who has a strong interest in SEND. The role is for a School in Runcorn who cater for students with SLD.

About the School.

The school cater for children KS1 and KS2 children who are learning at an EYFS Level, whos primary need is Severe Learning Difficulties – some students may have further needs such as severe language and commincation needs and Pica. The staff here provide specialised education tailored to each students needs and abilities. The school is well equipped with resources and equipment to ensure students are stimulated, happy and sensory / emotional needs are met.

Assignment Details.

The school are looking for someone who can commit Monday – Friday, but will also consider part time / job shares for suitable applicants.

Person Specification.

• Experience of working with SEND or Early Years in either a school or residential setting
