Responsibilities

• Work across both Year 2 classes to provide targeted support.
• Lead English and Maths interventions for mixed and lower-ability pupils.
• Deliver targeted RWI phonics sessions.
• Support pupils to develop their reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Identify gaps in learning and adapt support accordingly.
• Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver effective interventions.
• Provide additional classroom support where required.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a supportive two-form entry primary school in Widnes, who are looking to appoint a highly experienced and Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who has a strong understanding of KS1 curriculum delivery, phonics and targeted intervention work, and who is confident supporting pupils of mixed abilities. Your new role: The successful Teaching Assistant will work across the Year 2 cohort, supporting pupils both within the classroom and through targeted intervention sessions. A key part of the role will be leading core subject interventions for mixed and lower-ability pupils, helping to close gaps in learning and build confidence across English and Maths. You will also take responsibility for delivering Read Write Inc. (RWI) phonics sessions, supporting pupils to develop their phonological awareness, reading fluency and confidence. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working across both Year 2 classes to provide targeted support.
