Job summary

Desian Education are partnering with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Runcorn to appoint Teaching Assistants for KS2 SEMH provision. You will join a small team supporting 8 pupils with EHCPs, in a structured and nurturing environment.

These full-time roles (32.5 hours/week) are initially temporary with potential permanent contracts for the right people. You will work alongside a class teacher and up to four Teaching Assistants to provide personalised support and positive behaviour

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant or similar in primary settings.
• Comfortable working in KS2 SEMH provision and with EHCPs.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils within KS2 SEMH provision.
• Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and support independence.
• Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation approaches.
• Support pupils to achieve EHCP outcomes and learning goals.
• Collaborate with class teacher and wider support team.

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Runcorn, who are looking to appoint at least two experienced and reliable Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team.

The school is a two-form-entry primary and is easily accessible via public transport, making this an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants looking for a stable, long-term role within a supportive school environment.

These positions are full-time, 32.5 hours per week, initially on a temporary basis, with permanent contracts being considered for the right individuals.

Your new role:

You will be working within the school's dedicated KS2 SEMH provision, supporting a small group of just 8 pupils, all of whom have individual EHCPs and a range of social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will become part of a well-supported classroom team consisting of a class teacher and up to four Teaching Assistants, giving you the opportunity to provide highly personalised support while working collaboratively with experienced education professionals.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored support to pupils within the KS2 SEMH provision
• Supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting pupils to engage with their learning and develop greater independence
• Implementing consistent and proactive positive behaviour strategies
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
• Supporting pupils with their individual EHCP outcomes
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team
• Supporting pupils both academically and emotionally
• Helping create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
