You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD in the Reception class, work closely with the teacher, and help the pupil engage with the Early Years curriculum while promoting independence and positive engagement throughout the day.

Your New Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will join the school’s Reception class, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis.
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team, you will:
The pupil is able to access the curriculum but can experience periods of disengagement and present with challenging behaviours due to their PDA profile. The successful candidate will therefore need to be patient, adaptable and confident in using creative, child-centred approaches to encourage engagement.
