Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Langwith and surrounding areas. Roles may include general classroom support, individual work, small-group interventions or supporting pupils with additional needs.

We offer full-time and part-time opportunities, with daily supply, short-term and long-term placements available for candidates with experience supporting pupils in learning, confidence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in schools or childcar settings.
• TA Level 2/3 desirable; relevant experience considered.
• Patient, positive and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Deliver targeted interventions in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
• Preparing resources and supporting teachers with classroom activities.
• Adapting learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, independence and engagement.
• Providing pastoral support and helping pupils manage their emotions appropriately.
• Following school safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion policies.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
• Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce classroom learning
• Delivering targeted interventions in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
• Preparing resources and supporting teachers with classroom activities
• Adapting learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, independence and engagement
• Providing pastoral support and helping pupils manage their emotions appropriately
• Following school safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion policies

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered
• A patient, positive and proactive approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Confidence supporting pupils with different abilities and additional needs
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances where applicable and suitable professional references
• Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
