Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Langwith and surrounding areas. Roles include general classroom support, individual work, small-group interventions or supporting pupils with additional needs.

We welcome both full-time and part-time applicants, with daily supply, short-term and long-term opportunities available. A Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable, DBS and references preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.
• A patient, positive and proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Confidence supporting pupils with different abilities and additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances where applicable and suitable professional references.
• Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
• Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce classroom learning.
• Delivering targeted interventions in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
• Preparing resources and supporting teachers with classroom activities.
• Adapting learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, independence and engagement.
• Providing pastoral support and helping pupils manage their emotions appropriately.
• Following school safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion policies.
