Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND across primary schools in Retford and surrounding areas. Roles include working with pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other learning requirements.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available, including short-term, long-term and permanent arrangements. You will work with teachers and SENCOs to deliver targeted interventions and support pupils’ development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with pupils, families and staff.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach with a range of learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other learning needs.
• Adapt activities and resources to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Deliver targeted interventions in phonics, reading, writing and maths.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence in learning.
• Follow individual plans and safeguarding procedures.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Retford

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a primary school in Retford? Or do you have experience supporting children with additional needs and want to take on a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to a pupil's education and development?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Retford and the surrounding areas. These roles may involve supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, learning needs or challenging behaviour.

We are looking for full-time and part-time SEN Teaching Assistants, with short-term, long-term and permanent opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Providing individual and small-group support to pupils with SEND
• Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and a range of additional learning needs
• Adapting activities and resources to help pupils access the curriculum
• Delivering targeted interventions in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, communication and positive behaviour
• Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning
• Following individual support plans, EHCP targets and school safeguarding procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, specialist provision or similar setting
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Confidence supporting pupils with differing levels of need
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances where applicable and suitable professional references
• Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
