Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a mainstream Primary School in Basford to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with high SEND needs. The role is full-time and long-term from ASAP until July 2027, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will have SEND experience, a TA qualification (desirable), and the ability to support sensory breaks and learning outside the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and support staff to adapt activities and

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive mainstream Primary School in Basford. The school provides a welcoming environment with a strong staff team in place to ensure pupils with additional needs receive consistent and effective support.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027, working Monday to Friday. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with high SEND needs, including facilitating sensory breaks, supporting learning outside of the classroom and adapting activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting children with SEND
• Experience providing 1:1 support within a school setting
• Confidence supporting sensory needs and regulation strategies
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• The ability to work effectively alongside teaching and support staff
