Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one and small‑group support across Leicester SEND settings, helping pupils engage and progress.

You will work with teachers and support staff to tailor activities to individual learning needs, using patient, resilient and proactive approaches.

This role offers flexible day-to-day work with potential progression into longer placements; PAYE pay, CPD courses, and access to a 24/7 consultant support network.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience within an education, SEND, or care setting.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

These settings are committed to helping students develop their confidence, independence, and engagement with education through individualised support.

We are looking to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant for flexible day-to-day work across SEND settings, with the possibility of progressing into a long-term placement. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist students with their individual learning needs, and work closely with teachers and support staff to encourage positive engagement. This SEND Teaching Assistant role requires someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to helping students make positive progress.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience within an education, SEND, or care setting
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• The ability to adapt support to meet individual student needs
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
