Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in St. Helen's from September 2026.

The role is full-time, supporting pupils across the primary age range, working closely with the class teacher to help deliver engaging lessons and provide targeted support to individuals and small groups. The placement runs until October Half Term, with potential extension for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• Confident supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 in classroom and small-group interventions.
• Experience supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
• Patient, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children develop academically and socially.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, working with teachers, parents and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range in the classroom and through small group interventions.
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and targeted support.
• Provide additional help to individuals and groups to help them reach their potential.

• The successful candidate will: Have recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• Be confident supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, both in the classroom and through small group interventions.
• Have experience supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEND, where required.
• Be patient, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children develop both academically and socially.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, working effectively alongside teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
