Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a primary school in the Neath area seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class five mornings a week. You will assist with small groups in Literacy and Numeracy, help raise standards alongside the class teacher, and plan constructive play during lunchtimes to engage pupils and support their development.

The role requires a minimum of 6 months experience with children and a Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

The Head Teacher is looking to appoint a qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a term initially, and the successful candidate will be supporting a Year 2 class five mornings a week. You will be supporting small groups with Literacy and Numeracy and you will be responsible for raising standards alongside the class teacher.

TeacherActive are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:

• Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
• Will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
• Responsible for working with an individual pupil and small groups
• Will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion
• Has the ability to encourage every child to learn and achieve and has enthusiasm, skill and desire to make a difference
• Can plan, prepare and promote constructive play during the lunchtime period
