Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing primary school in Tredegar on a part-time, temporary basis. The role involves supporting a pupil with ALN on a 2:1 basis, focusing on emotional and behavioural development and learning progress.

Hours are 08:30–15:30, with flexibility. The ideal candidate has Level 2 TA or 6+ months classroom experience, strong classroom management, and a willingness to work one-to-one with the pupil. Team Teach is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification or at least 6 months experience in a classroom setting
• Experience working one to one with pupils with Additional Learning Needs / ALN
• TEAM teach qualified is a preference but not required
• Excellent classroom management

Responsibilities

• Support a young boy with complex needs on a 2:1 basis, aiding emotional, learning and behavioural development in class
• Assist in daily learning activities within a supportive team

The Primary School is looking to take on a highly experienced teaching assistant who is ready for a challenge. The successful applicant will be working with a young boy that has complex needs on a 2:1 basis supporting his emotional, learning and behavioural difficulties in the class. This role will be paramount in supporting the pupil s development in his learning and confidence daily on a temporary basis. The role will be part time and the successful candidate will need to be flexible working between the hours of 08:30am 15:30pm.

The successful Teaching Assistant / TA will have:

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification or at least 6 months experience in a classroom setting
• Experience working one to one with pupils with Additional Learning Needs / ALN
• TEAM teach qualified is a preference but not required
• Excellent classroom management
