Job summary

Horrington Primary School in the United Kingdom is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with personal care needs, health and welfare matters, and to contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

You will work with teachers to implement local learning strategies, monitor progress, assist pupils with special educational needs, encourage interaction, and help maintain a calm, orderly classroom in line with lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Attend to pupils' personal needs and implement related programmes including health, hygiene, first aid and welfare.
• Undertake programmes linked to local and national learning strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals, recording achievement & progress and feeding back to the teacher
• Supervise and provide support for pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning
• Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans
