Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming SEND school in Sutton. You will support a pupil with autism on a daily basis, helping with personalised learning activities and building confidence in a nurturing environment.

This long-term role offers an opportunity to work closely with the class teacher and SEN team, using calm, patient communication to encourage independence, social skills and resilience in the pupil you support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in SEND schools.
• Ability to provide personalised learning activities.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.

We're looking for a warm and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school based in Sutton. This is a lovely opportunity to work closely with pupils with Autism, providing consistent support in a nurturing and structured environment.

This is a long-term Teaching Assistant role.

Your Teaching Assistant duties:

• Supporting a pupil with autism on a one-to-one and small groups basis.
• Helping with personalised learning activities.
• Encouraging communication, independence, and social skills.
• Providing calm and positive behaviour support.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team.
