Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant in Long Eaton (NG10) to support Upper KS2 pupils with SEND. The role runs 8:30am–4:00pm, with an immediate start and close collaboration with the class teacher and support staff.

You will deliver 1:1 support, small group interventions, and adapt activities to enable learning, monitoring progress through assessments including Pre-Key Stage standards where relevant.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience supporting children in an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with additional educational and behavioural needs in KS2 or Upper KS2.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum, adaptive teaching and Pre-Key Stage assessment standards.
• Confidence delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions to help pupils access learning and make progress.
• Knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies and approaches to supporting emotional regulation.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach, with the ability to collaborate with teachers and support staff.

Long Eaton (NG10)

KS2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Upper Key Stage 2. The school is focused on ensuring children with additional educational and behavioural needs receive the right support to access learning, develop independence and build positive relationships within the classroom.

This full-time

KS2 Teaching Assistant position offers working hours of approximately

8:30am to 4:00pm, with an immediate start. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide targeted 1:1 assistance, deliver small group interventions and adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with SEND. You will also support pupils with behavioural challenges, use positive regulation strategies and contribute to monitoring progress through appropriate assessment methods, including Pre-Key Stage standards where relevant.

The successful KS2 Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience supporting children in an educational setting


• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with additional educational and behavioural needs in KS2 or Upper KS2


• A strong understanding of the primary curriculum, adaptive teaching and Pre-Key Stage assessment standards


• Confidence delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions to help pupils access learning and make progress


• Knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies and approaches to supporting emotional regulation
