TeacherActive Ltd is working with a mainstream primary school in Gillingham to appoint a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant. The role is part-time and temporary with potential to become long-term for the right candidate. You will support pupils with SEND and assist in the classroom to promote engagement and progress.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).

The school is looking to take on a Primary Teaching Assistant on a part-time, short-term basis, with the potential to become a long-term position for the right candidate. The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will support pupils with SEND alongside providing general classroom assistance, working closely with teachers to encourage pupil engagement, independence and academic progress.

The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• Experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream primary school
• Experience providing classroom support across the primary curriculum
• A good understanding of safeguarding and supporting children's individual learning needs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• An energetic, patient and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for helping children succeed
