Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Teaching Assistant in Liverpool to support children in their educational journey.

You will work with pupils, teachers, and SEND staff to provide 1:1 and small-group support, with opportunities for full-time or part-time hours.

Competitive pay £13.50–£14.50 per hour, plus on-site parking and CPD training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school, SEND, care, residential, or support setting.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide professional references.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support children with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
  • Work with class teachers and SENDCo to deliver personalised learning plans and interventions.
  • Use creative, practical, sensory, and play-based approaches to engagement.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and external professionals.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, and support staff to create a positive learning environment where children feel valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and learning challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver personalised learning plans and interventions.
  • Use creative, practical, sensory, and play-based approaches to encourage engagement and participation.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence.

Additional Information
