Job summary

TeacherActive is supporting a mainstream secondary school in Retford seeking a Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026. You will support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4 (and occasionally KS5) to help them access learning and achieve strong results.

The role offers competitive PAYE pay rates, ongoing CPD opportunities, and a dedicated consultant team to assist with onboarding and placements across local schools.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant (preferred experience within Secondary School setting).
• Experience with SEND.
• Proactive attitude in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4 (and sometimes Key Stage 5) to help them access learning and achieve excellent results.
• Assist with classroom activities and targeted support to learners needing additional help.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment and help students Flourish personally and academically.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95.00 - £110.00 per day

These schools boast fantastic facilities and offer opportunities both inside and outside of lessons to promote students engagement, to help them flourish personally and academically.

We are looking to take on Teaching Assistants to start after the summer break in September 2026. The successful applicants will be working across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (sometimes Key Stage 5 too) helping students achieve excellent results and to enable all students to have access to learning.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant (preferred experience withing Secondary School setting)
• Experience with SEND
• Proactive attitude in the classroom
