Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils across specialist schools in Southampton and surrounding areas. Roles include day-to-day supply, short-term placements and full-time positions for flexible or long-term work within education.

You will work with pupils with SEND, supporting learning engagement and independence while collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a nurturing school environment.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant ideal.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small-group support in classroom settings.
• Assist with classroom activities and routines.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop confidence, communication and independence.

Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Southampton and the surrounding areas.

As a Teaching Assistant in a specialist setting, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils engage with their learning, develop their independence and feel supported within the school environment.

You may be supporting pupils with needs including:

• Autism (ASD)

• ADHD

• Learning difficulties

• Complex needs

• Social, emotional and mental health needs

• Communication and interaction difficulties

• Behavioural needs

Your responsibilities may include providing 1:1 or small-group support, assisting with classroom activities, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop their confidence, communication and independence.
