Job summary

Qualifications

Pay: £14.25 per hour

Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Southampton and the surrounding areas.

We have a range of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term placements and full-time positions, making this a great opportunity whether you are looking for flexible work or a longer-term role within education.

As a Teaching Assistant in a specialist setting, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils engage with their learning, develop their independence and feel supported within the school environment.

You may be supporting pupils with needs including:

  • Autism (ASD)

  • ADHD

  • Learning difficulties

  • Complex needs

  • Social, emotional and mental health needs

  • Communication and interaction difficulties

  • Behavioural needs

Your responsibilities may include providing 1:1 or small-group support, assisting with classroom activities, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop their confidence, communication and independence.
