Job summary

Teach is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of mainstream schools and specialist settings. We have a variety of opportunities available, including day‑to‑day supply, short‑term, long‑term and permanent roles.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:30pm (hours may vary by school). You will work one‑to‑one or in small groups and support pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, helping create a

SEN Teaching Assistant

Teach is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of mainstream schools and specialist settings. Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting pupils on a one‑to‑one basis or in small groups
  • Assisting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Encouraging pupils to engage with learning and achieve their individual goals
  • Working alongside teachers to deliver tailored learning activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting pupils in line with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where appropriate
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Following all school safeguarding and behaviour policies
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care or similar setting
  • A calm, patient and caring approach

  • Confidence working as part of a team
  • A flexible and proactive attitude
  • A genuine commitment to helping every child reach their potential
Desirable but not essential
  • Level2 or Level3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
