Job summary

TimePlan Education is assisting a New Forest school with a part-time Teaching Assistant role in Year R, starting October 2026. The TA will provide 1:1 support for a pupil with learning disabilities and Autism, mainly in the afternoons, with potential to extend to full days as the pupil settles.

Applicants should have prior TA experience and be able to supply two child-based references. This is a temporary to permanent position based in a school near Southampton.

Responsibilities

Part-Time Teaching Assistant Job available in the New Forest, Southampton

Teaching Assistant Job 1:1 Year R, afternoons only

October 2026 start date

Based in the New Forest, close to Southampton, this school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their school from October on a long-term basis. As a Teaching Assistant you will be needed Monday to Friday, initially afternoons only. Once the pupil has settled in to the school, there is a possibility of this increasing to full-days if desired.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a pupil in Year R joining the school with learning disabilities and Autism. This pupil has an ECHP in place. As a Teaching Assistant you will be providing 1:1 support in class. You will work alongside the pupil, helping them to engage in class and focus in lessons.

This is an on-gong temporary position (temporary to permanent position). The right candidate will ideally have had experience working as a Teaching Assistant previously and will be able to provide two child-based related references.
