Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting a Part-Time Teaching Assistant in the New Forest, near Southampton, for an October 2026 start. The role is 1:1 support for a Year R pupil with learning disabilities and Autism, with an ECHP in place.

Initially afternoons only, Monday to Friday, with potential to move to full days as the pupil settles. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 in-class support, help the pupil engage in lessons, and provide two child-based references.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant preferred.
• Ability to provide two child-based references.
• Experience supporting a pupil with learning disabilities and Autism.
• Familiarity with EHCP is helpful.

Responsibilities

Teaching Assistant Job 1:1 Year R, afternoons only

Based in the New Forest, close to Southampton, this school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their school from October on a long-term basis. As a Teaching Assistant you will be needed Monday to Friday, initially afternoons only. Once the pupil has settled in to the school, there is a possibility of this increasing to full-days if desired.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a pupil in Year R joining the school with learning disabilities and Autism. This pupil has an ECHP in place. As a Teaching Assistant you will be providing 1:1 support in class. You will work alongside the pupil, helping them to engage in class and focus in lessons.

This is an on-gong temporary position (temporary to permanent position). The right candidate will ideally have had experience working as a Teaching Assistant previously and will be able to provide two child-based related references.
