Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming one-form-entry primary school in Cardiff to appoint a Learning Support Assistant. You will support children with ALN in the Foundation Phase, provide personal care where needed and help pupils build confidence, independence and engagement in learning.

The school has a fun, energetic and supportive Foundation Phase team who are passionate about creating a positive learning environment where every child feels included and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Learning Support Assistant / LSA from January 2027 on a part‑time, long‑term temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be supporting children with Additional Learning Needs / ALN within the Foundation Phase, providing classroom support, assisting with personal care and helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and engagement in learning.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

Experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs / ALN

Experience providing personal care within an educational or care setting

A good understanding of the Foundation Phase curriculum

A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners

The ability to work effectively as part of a fun and energetic team
