Job summary

Flourish Education seeks a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bridgenorth. You will support a Year 6 class and work with the teacher to create a safe, engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive.

The role runs from September 2026 to March 2027, with potential extension. Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Experience with Read Write Inc. phonics is essential and a current DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Strong KS1 knowledge.
• Experience as TA/ Learning Support Assistant in Nursery or Primary.
• Recent UK school-based experience.
• DBS up-to-date or Update Service within last 12 months.
• Two excellent professional references.

Responsibilities

• Support a Year 6 class throughout the day.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Bridgenorth. In this role, you will support a Year 6 class, working alongside the class teacher to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive.

This position is available September 2026 and is expected to continue until March 2027, with the potential for an extension. The working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support throughout the school day and deliver small-group phonics intervention sessions. The school follows the Read Write Inc. phonics programme, so previous experience using this scheme is essential.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Have a good understanding of the Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a Nursery or Primary School
• Recent UK school-based experience
• A DBS registered on the Update Service, or issued within the last 12 months
• A minimum of two excellent professional references
