Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Dewsbury, with KS1 involvement and a strong emphasis on phonics and early reading. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across KS1, delivering phonics activities and helping maintain a positive learning environment.

The role is long-term from September, with a focus on phonics and early reading development and the opportunity to grow through CPD and a supportive onboarding

Qualifications

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience working with children within a primary school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 / KS1.
• Strong knowledge and experience of phonics and early reading.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Dewsbury, who are looking to appoint a Primary Teaching Assistant. The school provides education for primary-aged pupils and is looking for an enthusiastic and supportive individual to work with children across Key Stage 1 / KS1.

The school is looking to take on a Primary Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September, with a particular focus on supporting phonics and early reading within KS1. The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, deliver phonics activities and help create a positive classroom environment.

The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable
• Experience working with children within a primary school setting
• Experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 / KS1
• Strong knowledge and experience of phonics and early reading
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
