Talent Development Specialist (Technical Learning)

While this role is advertised for our Solihull office, candidates can be based in our Plymouth or Oxford offices, as our team is co-located across the UK.

Reporting to the Learning & Development Lead, you will shape and deliver technical learning at Ridge, supporting our people with knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed, especially in chartership pathways, systems, and technical capabilities.

Key Focus Areas
  • Supporting chartership and professional qualification training, such as CPDs.
  • Developing and delivering technical training on systems like Workspace.
  • Creating engaging learning content for our LMS, ‘Empower’, aligned with business needs.

This collaborative role involves working with subject matter experts, system owners, and professional bodies to ensure clear development routes and accreditation opportunities for our staff.

Responsibilities
  • Support chartership and professional development through structured pathways and guidance.
  • Coordinate and deliver training for Workspace and other core systems.
  • Design and maintain digital learning content for Empower LMS, including e-learning modules, videos, guides, and interactive tools.
  • Translate technical content into accessible training with subject matter experts.
  • Facilitate live training sessions, both in-person and virtual.
  • Support ongoing CPD initiatives and promote technical learning opportunities.
  • Gather feedback, analyze learning outcomes, and improve content accordingly.
  • Stay updated on system changes, qualifications, and training best practices.
  • Champion a learning culture that motivates engagement with technical development.
Required Skills and Experience

We seek passionate individuals who enjoy simplifying complex information into engaging learning. You should be collaborative, tech-savvy, and adaptable across disciplines. While experience in the built environment, especially with platforms like Workspace, is advantageous, essential skills include:

  • Experience designing and delivering technical training.
  • Knowledge of chartership/professional pathways (e.g., Engineering, Architecture, Surveying).
  • Confidence in delivering engaging training virtually and in person.
  • Willingness to travel between offices.
  • Proficiency in creating digital learning content.
  • Experience with LMS platforms, including content management and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
