Job summary

SR2 is recruiting a Technical Engineer specializing in Tactical Communications (TacCIS) to join a fast-growing UK defence technology business in Gloucestershire. The role combines hands-on configuration, integration and testing of tactical radios and networked systems in field and office settings.

You will become a subject-matter expert across advanced tactical radio, RF fundamentals and integrated platforms, with field exercises and training delivery included.

Qualifications

• Military TacCIS background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tactical radio systems and RF fundamentals; good networking knowledge.
• Experience with ATAK or other military GIS platforms; knowledge of cloud infra would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Becoming an SME across advanced tactical radio and communications tech.
• Build and integrate tactical comms solutions across RF, IP networks, SATCOM/BLOS and RoIP.
• Support field exercises, customer trials and demonstrations.
• Configure, program and maintain tactical communications equipment.
• Troubleshoot and provide first-line technical support.
• Assist integration with third-party platforms and systems.
• Develop training materials and deliver training to end users.
• Collaborate with project teams on delivering new capability.
