Job summary

Ex-Mill Recruitment Ltd seeks a Communications Engineer (MOD) for a central UK role. The position is home based with extensive UK travel, covering design, installation, commissioning and ongoing support of mission‑critical communications across the defence estate.

Ideal candidates have military or CIS communications background, with experience in RF systems and IP networking. A UK driving licence and willingness to travel are required, with security clearance eligibility advantageous.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering training or relevant professional/military experience in communications.
• Experience with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) or similar mission‑critical systems is advantageous.
• Technical background in RF, telecoms or CIS within secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering of MOD communications systems across the UK.
• Produce installation plans, work packages and procedures.
• Conduct site surveys and risk assessments before deployment.
• Assist with FAT, SAT and system commissioning and handover.
• Review test results to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Travel across the UK to customer sites as required.
