Job summary

Gateshead Regeneration Partnership seeks a Systems Development Analyst to improve council services through robust IT solutions. You’ll translate needs across adults, social care and lifelong learning into actionable system changes, enhancements and reliable operation.

You’ll work with multiple teams, analyze processes, provide training, and ensure documentation and security standards are met while supporting ongoing digital transformation in a forward-thinking Local Government setting.

Qualifications

• Higher education qualification in IT or related field.
• Experience supporting and developing business applications and information systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with system upgrades, testing and implementation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Technical knowledge of databases and reporting tools.
• Commitment to customer support and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide system development and support the delivery of requests for change within business applications and information systems.
• Collaborate with service leads to identify system requirements and improvements; assist with testing and technical guidance.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems to support efficient business operations.
• Maintain and support daily IT systems and applications; implement upgrades as needed.
• Ensure the effective operation of financial systems and related configurations.
• Configure and maintain system applications per changing requirements and policies.
• Provide advice and training to users to ensure effective problem resolution.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to share knowledge and best practice.
• Document area responsibilities, roadmaps, and guidance materials.
• Lead User Groups and coordinate with senior management where required.
• Manage issues, coordinate teams, and obtain timely resolutions.
• Promote customer feedback and continuous service improvements.
• Work with Performance Management to address data quality issues.
