Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) seeks a senior programme lead to head the ISSC2 transition for DEFRA and the Home Office, delivering a major cross-government transformation. You will coordinate exit and transition activities, manage risks, build senior stakeholder relationships, drive governance, and support the team through change while aligning with BAU objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading supplier management or transition programmes.
• Experience defining exit and transition components (scope, deliverables, timelines, resources, contract management).
• Experience integrating outputs into BAU and enabling benefits realization.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with suppliers, senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills in sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive a complex programme of contract exit and transition activity with competing priorities, in a multi-partner and stakeholder environment at pace
• Provide insight, leadership and challenge at all levels to achieve the desired outcome
• Unify competing workstreams, manage interdependencies to ensure end-to-end programme view
• Identify and manage stakeholder relationships across internal and external stakeholders
• Use appropriate methodologies to identify and monitor risks and issues with mitigation and escalation
• Drive governance, transition planning and execution, ensuring delivery across programme phases
• Support, guidance and coaching for the team and promote performance and development
