Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking an experienced programme lead to head the ISSC2 transition for DEFRA and the Home Office, guiding delivery across a cross-government transformation.

You will drive complex exit and transition activities, align workstreams, manage interdependencies, and build strong relationships with supplier partners and senior stakeholders. This role demands outstanding governance, risk management and communication to realise benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience leading supplier management or transition on a major cross-government programme such as ISSC2 or equivalent.
• Ability to define exit and transition components: scope, deliverables, timescales and resource needs.
• Experience integrating project outputs into BAU and enabling change benefits.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with supplier partners and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge in sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive a complex programme of contract exit and transition activity with multiple priorities and partners.
• Provide insight, leadership and challenge at all levels to achieve outcomes.
• Unify competing workstreams, identify opportunities and manage interdependencies for end-to-end delivery.
• Identify and manage stakeholder relationships across internal and external parties as appropriate.
• Use appropriate methods to monitor risks and issues with mitigation and escalation as needed.
• Drive governance, transition planning and execution, and ensure change is managed effectively.
• Provide support, guidance and coaching for the team and promote personal development.
