The Carnegie Club in Skibo Castle, Highland, seeks a Switchboard Receptionist to join our Front of House team. You will manage calls, coordinate guest requests, and support day-to-day operations across the club, delivering a warm, professional welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-end customer service or hospitality environment (4/5* preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage all internal and external calls with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency.
• Act as a key first point of contact, creating a positive and lasting first impression.
• Coordinate and communicate requests clearly across departments, ensuring timely follow-up.
• Work with Reservations and Host teams to deliver a seamless guest experience.
• Assist with guest enquiries, bookings and administrative tasks as required.
• Provide flexible support across Front of House during peak periods and events.
• Handle deliveries, post, and package tracking with care and organisation.
• Maintain accurate records and support reporting requirements.
• Ensure adherence to financial procedures in handling petty cash and other transactions.
• Stay informed on club services, events, and opportunities to enhance the guest experience.

Description

Our Front of House team is at the heart of the member and guest experience. Working across Switchboard and Club Concierge, this team ensures seamless communication, personalised service, and a warm, professional welcome at every stage of the guest journey.

As part of our Switch/Reception team, you’ll keep the Club running smoothly behind the scenes. Acting as a central point of contact, you’ll manage calls, coordinate deliveries, monitor access, and support day-to-day operations across the business. This is a structured, process-driven role that suits someone organised, reliable, and confident communicating with members, guests, staff and contractors. You’ll also gain valuable exposure to Front of House and the wider Club environment.

About The Role

About You

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a high-end customer service or hospitality environment (4/5* preferred)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good computer literacy (including reservation systems where applicable)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
