Job summary

Arup offers a 10–12 month placement for aspiring structural engineers. You’ll shadow an experienced engineer, assist with early project stages and develop skills in calculations, modelling and design. The role emphasizes low-carbon, economical solutions and collaboration across disciplines.

On-the-job mentoring will guide you toward professional qualification, with learning opportunities across software, codes and construction techniques, while you grow within Arup’s supportive community.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in General Civil Structural Design or Architectural Engineering at 2.1 or above.
• Studying an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
• A passion for structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Shadow an experienced engineer and assist in the early stages of a project.
• Carry out structural calculations, modelling and analysis.
• Produce drawings and digital models to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with team members to develop economical, low-carbon solutions.
• Learn codes, practices, software and techniques to deliver projects.
