Job summary

Arup is offering a 10–12 month internship for a placement student in structural engineering. The placement spans local, national or global projects across transport, commercial, education, healthcare and science sectors.

You will shadow experienced engineers, assist in early project stages, and learn through hands-on design, analysis and modelling while developing professional skills and pursuing accreditation paths.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a Degree in General, Civil, Structural, Design or Architectural Engineering, at 2.1 or above.
• Studying, or have studied, an ICE or IStructE-accredited course.
• Passion for structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural calculations, modelling, engineering, computer and hand analysis.
• Design structural solutions that minimise embodied carbon and support sustainable goals.
• Develop BIM models and build documentation for projects.
• Plan deadlines and collaborate with project teams to deliver timely results.
• Learn professional practice and apply it across varying scales and sectors.
